Commission
considering water system sale
The
Idaho Public Utilities Commission will take comments through Aug. 16 on Algoma
Water System’s request to modify its Certificate of Public Convenience and
Necessity to reflect the sale of the system to a new owner.
Algoma
Water serves about 27 households north of Sandpoint. According to the
application, the current owner, Larry Neu, is selling the system to Paul
Greenwood of Chatsworth, Calif. for $177,000. Although he lists a primary
residence in California, Greenwood also works in Bonner County where he owns
three community sewer systems.
The
application states that ownership of the business has been transferred to
Greenwood and that the new owner does not intend to ask for a change in rates
and charges for services at this time.
Those wishing to submit comments must do so by no later than Aug. 16. Comments are accepted via e-mail by accessing the commission’s homepage at www.puc.idaho.gov and clicking on "Comments & Questions." Fill in the case number (AWS-W-06-01) and enter your comments. Comments can also be mailed to P.O. Box 83720, Boise, ID 83720-0074 or faxed to (208) 334-3762.
